Investigating: Characterising how AI designed proteins bind to HCV glycoproteins to block infection, and evaluating different AI programs for designing binders. Exploring how we can develop these techniques to apply them to other viruses.

Expertise: Infection biology and neuroscience (resident baker and wildlife photographer)

Investigating: Using AI designed binders to block virus entry, currently in HCV and expanding to more viruses. Also investigating interactions between SARS-CoV-2 and the ACE2 receptor, and how changes in the receptor binding motif influence this.
